When I first started the program, I was a little overwhelmed by the way I hit the macro (and eats plenty of protein). I was always trying to figure out exactly what I needed to eat every day and find a recipe that fits my FWTFL plan. Especially during the first six weeks when you are supposed to avoid dairy products and gluten.
If you follow the program, you will find that they offer weekly meal plans (the usual vegan version and the vegan version). Meal plans can be found on the mobile app and PDFs containing meals and recipes can be downloaded via the desktop app. I’ve been using a meal plan recently for ideas just because I’m tired of my weekly rotation. Plus, it turns out to be nice to have someone else plan your meal and it’s very easy to eat. We recently made an air fryer meatball and my kids loved them!
With that in mind, I was pleased to be able to combine a bit of resources with my favorite FWTFL recipes! You’re probably familiar with it, but the program highlights a balanced nutrition focused on whole foods and strategic carbohydrate cycling to optimize fat loss and overall health. Therefore, in this guide we categorize recipes into low carb day recipes, regular macro day recipes, and low macro day recipes.

Through the process I learned a lot. As a health coach, I thought I was eating healthy, but after following the macro for a few weeks I realized there was a huge difference between “healthy eating” and dieting (losing strength and fat) for my goals. Before the program, I wasn’t eating enough protein, which is one of the main reasons why I struggled to build muscle, lose fat and feel confident in my body.
