I have dessert for breakfast now Overnight oat samoa Recipe! It is packed with over 25 grams of protein and packed with caramel, chocolate and coconut flavours. It looks like a classic girl scout cookie.
I’m absolutely hooked on the rich, chocolatey caramel flavor of the famous Samoas Girl Scout cookies. Whether it’s my homemade Samoan cookies, samoas grilled oatmeal, samoas cockey protein shakes, or a more healthy apple, I can’t get enough.
Now I bring those flavors to breakfast with these Samoan overnight oats! They carry all the goodies of coconut, chocolate and caramel, but they are packed with fiber and protein, and they fuel you all the way through the morning.
Why do you like this recipe?
- Rich and luxurious – All flavors of Samoan cookies, but in a nutritious form of breakfast.
- It’s packed with protein – This will fill you up for hours thanks to chocolate protein powder, chia seeds and fiber-rich oats.
- No need for cooking – Mix, refrigerate and enjoy!
- Perfect for preparing meals – Make batches in advance for a stress-free morning.
Materials are required
To make these Samoa oats overnight, you need just a handful of simple ingredients. I’m sure you already have most of them on hand!
- Rolled Oats – These overnight oat bases! I like to use old-fashioned rolled oats and use the best textures, but quick oats work if necessary.
- Selected milk – I love using light coconut milk to use extra creaminess and coconut flavour tips, but almond milk and other dairy-free milk also work.
- Chocolate protein powder – This increases protein content and adds a rich chocolate flavor. Feel free to use your favorite protein powder brand. If you use plant-based protein powders, you will probably need about 1-1¼ cup, more milk, to get proper consistency.
- Unsweetened shredded coconut – Add that signature samo cookie flavor! I highly recommend toasting coconut for the best taste.
- Date Caramel -This natural refined sugar-free caramel is made from mixed dates and adds a deliciously sticky sweet element. You can also use store-bought items or make homemade date caramels.
- Chia seeds – Helps thicken the oats and add extra fiber, omega-3, protein.
- Chocolate chips -I like to use the low sugar option with Lily’s chocolate chips, but the dark chocolate chips work!

Alternatives and customizations
I love how this overnight oat recipe comes together, but there are always ways to make them yourself! Here are some ideas:
- Extra dul: Dark chocolate melted on top of dark chocolate with a drizzle truth Samo Cucumber Vibe.
- Do you have date caramel? Replace it with almond butter, peanut butter, or even maple syrup drizzle.
- Protein powder swap: You can skip it or use 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder for its chocolate flavor. If you do not want to omit it, add a little extra sweetener to taste.
- More crunch: Add chopped toasted pecans or walnuts to add a little extra texture and nutty flavor.
- Do you want to make it thicker? Use a little less milk or add 1 teaspoon of chia seeds.
How to make overnight oats
Step 1: Combine all ingredients except the toppings into a small container or mason jar. Cover the container with the lid and cover the fridge overnight (or at least 1-2 hours).
Step 2: When you’re ready to add milk if necessary, toast with toasted shredded coconut, date caramel and a drizzle of chop chocolate or chocolate chips. enjoy!
Brittany recipe tips!
- Use toasted coconut for the best flavor! The raw shredded coconuts work, but toasts give them a deeper, nutty flavor than these oats taste like Samoan cookies. You can toast by spreading the coconut on a baking sheet and baking at 325°F for 3-5 minutes or lightly toasting in a dry frying pan over low heat.
- Adjust the liquid to your liking. The amount of liquid used will vary depending on the type of protein powder used. I used beef isolated protein powder, but with plant-based protein powder you probably need about 1-1¼ cup to get proper consistency.
How to store oats overnight in Samoa
In the fridge: Store the oats overnight in the fridge in an airtight container or mason jar. Up to 4 days. Mix well before eating and add milk if necessary to relax your diet.
Meal preparation tips: If you are making multiple servings, store the oats in individual jars for a simple grab breakfast throughout the week. Separate the toppings until just before they provide the best texture.
FAQ
Overnight oats are usually eaten cold, but if you like it warm, you can microwave them for about 30-60 seconds before adding toppings.
Steel cut oats don’t tender as much as overnight, so I wouldn’t recommend it. If you want to try it, soak it for at least 8-12 hours and add additional liquid.
Overnight oat textures can’t stand the freeze well, so it’s best to enjoy fresh things from the fridge
