Trulicity is a once-a-week injectable drug that helps to manage blood sugar (sugar) levels, improve A1C (a measure of glucose control over the past 2-3 months), and even support weight loss.
This article covers everything you need to know about administering Trulicity.
What do you usually start with?
When you start Tululu City, your doctor may start with a low dose of 0.75 mg, usually weekly, so that your body regulates and minimizes side effects. The medication can be taken with or without food.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, and suppression of appetite. This ranges from mild to severe.
If blood glucose levels need to be controlled after 4 weeks and you need to be able to withstand medication, your doctor may increase the dose once a week to 1.5 mg.
What is a normal, trivial dose?
There are no “normal” doses as they vary from person to person, but there are standard “maintenance” doses.
This dose is established after the body is indication for medication and can measure its effectiveness in glycemic control and the severity of side effects.
Most adults start at 0.75 mg once a week, and after 4 weeks, it increases to a maintenance dose of 1.5 mg. For children over the age of 10 with type 2 diabetes, the starting and maximum maintenance doses are 0.75 mg and 1.5 mg once a week, respectively.
How can you increase your dose?
Dosage increases should only be made under the guidance of a physician. Typically, the induction dose is only 0.75 mg for the first 4 weeks to monitor side effects and treatment response.
If additional glycemic control is required, your doctor may increase the dose to 1.5 mg.
After another 4 weeks, if further management is required and side effects are minimal, the dosage will increase to 3 mg, which will ultimately reach an adult maximum of 4.5 mg. The maximum dose for children remains at 1.5 mg.
Typical dosing schedule chart
Therefore, for adults, a typical trulicity dosing schedule may be:

2nd month | 1.5 mg | Once a week for 4 weeks | Increase as needed (optional) |

What is the correct dose for me?
Finding the right dose takes time, patience and perhaps some trial and error. It depends on your health history, goals, lifestyle, and how well you endure side effects.
In general, higher doses of GLP-1 agonists like Trulicity can lead to better results, including lower blood glucose levels, weight loss, and improved A1C, but also increase the risk of side effects.
Always adjust your dose under the guidance of your healthcare provider.
What is the correct dosage for weight loss?
Trulicity does not approve the FDA for weight loss, but many users report weight loss while taking it. There is no official dose recommended for weight loss as it is not specifically approved for this purpose.
Trulicity is perfect for weight management when combined with a healthy diet and increased physical activity.
If you are considering a medication to lose weight, talk to your doctor about FDA-approved options. Please note that two GLP-1 agonists cannot be taken at the same time, such as Trulicity, Wegovy, and Zepbound.
Other drugs like metformin can be taken along with trivial things to help you lose weight.

What happens if I stop taking Trulicity?
Do not take diabetes medication without consulting with your healthcare provider.
Stopping a sudden cessation can have negative effects such as increased hunger, fatigue, weight gain, increased insulin resistance, decreased insulin sensitivity, and increased blood sugar levels.
If you experience serious side effects, your insurance no longer covers truility, or if your lifestyle doesn’t suit your lifestyle, talk to your provider about alternative treatments.
Are there different trulicity pens?
Yes, Trulicity is provided in four single dosage pens based on the prescribed dose. The one-month prescription will receive four pens available at the following doses:
- 0.75 mg
- 1.5 mg
- 3 mg
- 4.5 mg
Single-dose pens should prevent accidental ingestion unless you take them more than once a week. However, if the pen is damaged or misplaced, it means there is no extra medicine.
What is the strongest trivial thing?
All Trulicity Pens contain the same active ingredient, Dulaglutide, and larger dosing pens do not have a stronger formulation. High dose per week.
Increased dosage means you’re taking more medications each week, not a stronger version.
Always follow the dosage prescribed by your doctor and do not take any more than the instructions.
What is the maximum weekly dosage?
The best dose you can take every week is 4.5 mg.
You can adjust the administration date or time as long as it takes at least 72 hours from the last dose. If it is less than 72 hours since the last dose, wait until the next week to select a new dose date.
Do not take two doses within 3 days of each other. This can increase the risk of severe side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and dangerous hypoglycemia (hypoglycemia).
Symptoms of extreme hypoglycemia include dizziness, confusion, rapid heart rate, shallow breathing, trembling, moodiness, fatigue and the unconscious. If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency medical attention.
What should I do if I missed the dose?
Don’t worry – missing the once weekly dose won’t immediately raise blood sugar levels or cause weight gain.
If you missed the dose and have at least 3 days until the next scheduled dose, you can take the missed dose without significantly changing your schedule.
After more than 3 days, skip the dose you missed and continue with the next dose as scheduled. Do not take two doses within 72 hours. To help you remember, set an alarm or reminder on your phone for weekly doses.
